I've just found C-H's post under which is exactly what I'm looking for. I posted a query under this link but being an old post, am re-posting my query as a new post in case nobody sees the old post. I can't figure out one thing: Under points 3 and 4 under "Load the KeyMap file under 'Actions' menu, and Load template under 'File'---> 'Project Templates', when I try to do this by selecting 'Actions/Load', I see that Reaper is not listed under 'All supported files' so I select the 'All files' option and then, the Keymap file which I have downloaded is shown. But when I select it, then Reaper comes up with a message "No supported script files could be loaded". I thought that C-H's template was in the correct format to be accepted by Reaper. (I have version 5.28/x64) Can somebody advise me how to proceed further? Thanks Stan
Hmmm. The files were made/saved with v4.78 and I haven't tried them on v5.xx version. Did the format change maybe? Edit: I don't have a MIDI Controller at hand to really test but I did go to 'Actions' --> 'Show Actions'. A dialog pops up. What you need to do is to use 'Import/Export' --> 'Import...' in the lower left corner. That (on my machine) opens up the KeyMap folder (<User>\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\KeyMaps). It seems to work fine here.

Thanks - exporting the Keymap file didn't bring up any funny messages, so maybe it worked - but now, what about exporting the Template file? I tried exporting this, but the error message came up again. I then loaded this .rpp file and that came up correctly with 8 tracks and I am able to load an Fx and play it from the keyboard as I've done before, but I still am unable to map the tracks to the faders. weird can't help now, but in a few days. Or, you can try to make the assignments in the Action menu all over again by hand. The ones I picked for this setup was just a quick and dirty for me. There are several different actions to choose from.
