Well awhile ago I posted the saga of my gearbox which shudders - Volvo say that it needs a new gearbox but the automatic specialist who took it out for an hour and a half says its not the gearbox. I have also had the ATF checked out and it is not contaminated. These are the codes showing on my dash : DTCS in vehicle ABS Checking SRS ready TCM checking ECM checking AUM DTC SET CEM Checking DIM Ready DDM Checking CCM Checking PDM Checking REM Checking SWM Ready VEM Checking now I have no idea what these mean but do any of them relate to the fact the the gearbox is faulty. I have had it into an independant after it went to the volvo garage and the independant says the car is in nead of a new gearbox but this comes from them ringing an automatic gearbox specialist< (Wimbledon Automatics) and when I spoke to them and told them I had had it checked by Gravesend Transmission who cleared it they agreed it must be "something" else. Prior to this it was into my Volvo garage for the original diagnosis and after 3 days and new spark plugs they decided it was a gearbox problem after ringing an automatic specialist. I suspect it is the EMC and Transmission software not being in alignment but the volvo garage tells me it is so I am now thinking about going to another volvo garage ( I have to tavel a fair way because the second nearest volvo garage is a partnership of my local one) and getting them to confirm that all the ECM and Gearbox software etc are in alignment. It has to be a volvo garage becuase the independant cannot read the volvo software. Anyway any ideas from the codes folks? Thanks Jan
