I've got a session in a month w/ my band. We're actually going into a studio to cut bed tracks for our album and I'm gonna drag the tracks back home. The studio is running 6.4 and so am I. I just wanted to ask the best way to do this sort of thing, I'm sure you veterans know and could probably explain it so my pea sized brain can comprehend. I want to record drums (13 tracks including room and overheads and mic'ing each drum). I want to do a version that's just the basic drum parts and then do another take and let the drummer go crazy... then take the drums and edit them to make a rockin' good performance. My drummer is excellent but by doing it this way, it would allow for putting in parts where they need to be and finding those perfect fills. I figure it will also help make the recording go faster while we're actually shelling out the money. SOOO!! Is there a way to set up Protools so you can record 13 tracks... then record another 13 tracks and use the same fader positions and not have to make a new set of faders/tracks for another take of drums? Thanks for any help you can give me... chris
