6.2 TDM on XP - MP3 Export issues

MessageAuthor

when i tried to export an mp3 today, i got the following error: "could not complete the 'export selected as files' command because:access violation occurred." this happened to me once before and i figured out the problem - there was an audio file in the session with too many characters in the name. once i changed the name i was able to export mp3's without any problem. in this case there is nothing of that sort that i can find in this session. does anyone have any ideas?? 6.2 on XP, HD1 system

RE: 6.2 TDM on XP - MP3 Export issues

i just realized i should've noted the file i am attempting to export is a mono recording. when i try to export to a stereo mp3 from a stereo source file, it does work succesfully. i swear in the past i was able to export a mono mp3 without any issues, and i am even making sure to export as a mono mp3, not stereo in this case. any ideas?

Ken - we have reports of this happening in 6.2. Updating to a more current version of Pro Tools may fix the situation, as most of the reports have been with 6.2. What file format are you bouncing as? WAV files tend to exhibit this error less often. You may also try trashing your Pro Tools preferences files, which may help.
