CubicPack for Reaper 5...

MessageAuthor

Hi, all... I was getting more and more frustrated by the fact that I had to reconfigure several track layouts each time I was going from my previously uploaded Eyssina to Frema theme and inversily. From which, the main aim of this pack is to unify the two in order for them to share the same behavior, toolbars and layouts. Additionaly, this will help me to maintain them. Consequently, the independent versions already uploaded in the stash will no longer be updated : actually, I just deleted them. I would like to thank the authors of comments that have been posted here previously : each of them has really helped to keep my motivation intact. So, basically, CubicPack = Eyssina + Frema, sharing the same added tools, each of theme having its two redimensionable (AM) and fixed (FM) mcp panel height, which means that there are actually 4 ReaperThemeZip files in it. I took advantage of this to make improvements on both themes. For Frema : - Revisited mcp master track appearance, - Few fixes concerning alignment of mcp controls, - Several 'gen' improvements : among others, redesigned controls and a fix for the gen_vol_zeroline mark that was not appearing. For Eyssina : too much to list, as I had to redesign a lot of things to bring its behavior as Frema one. Among others, I got rid of the color boxes in tcp panels and redesigned a little the mixer. For both of them : I tried to improve their behavior when track icons are involved and, honestly, only partially succeeded, as the master track behavior in the mixer when any track icon is set is obviously buggy... In any case, be sure to take a look at the bundled ReadMe_CubicPack100.pdf file, as the installation process is, I admit, much more complicated than for a single generic ReaperThemeZip theme. To former users of either Frema or Eyssina themes : be sure to install again everything bundled in the pack, as there have been several file name changes. Hope all this will be useful for some of you... Links - This pack is outdated : see for the next stage...

Thanks, patton :) Well, I think you can download it again, as there were two bugs that I wanted to fix quickly. So, the 1.01 version solves : - A little one : in Frema, the tcp.fxparm wasn't following exactly as expected the movements of the other tcp controls when the tcp panel was wide (~540 pixels). - A much more nasty one involving the envcp panel which wasn't shifting rightly when the parent track was a folder. This with the envcp.label which wasn't following rightly the folder indentation in Eyssina. Not very proud of these two. Let me know if something is still misbehaving... EDIT : 1.01 was still not right concerning the envcp panel. So, 1.02 just uploaded : should work as expected, now. Sorry...

I've noticed that in all of these themes, the black keys of piano roll and virtual keyboard seem visually to get lifted when selected. That is the opposite of the usual pressed when selected appearance and creates a bit confusing visuals especially if running through the keys. Might be just me though and exactly the effect that was wanted. Thanks for the comprehensive package and updates.

Cubic, Since this is a complete replacement of earlier versions, could you clarify what the upgrade procedure should be for users that were current on the previous version of Eysinna? I'm wary of duplicating actions with reinstalled scripts with possible problems with action id's? In what sense are the four toolbars "joined"? Have they changed other than the icons? Also, how do the track types relate to the use of track and project templates? Will they work as intended only when a project or template is built from scratch with one of your themes in use? Later, Hartley

RE: CubicPack for Reaper 5...

Sorry for the late answers : been away three days for Christmas... @patton : thanks for the report. ;) @xpander : you're welcomed. About the piano roll keys, I will look more closely at it to see if I could change something. They are the only part of my theme that I borrowed from another one and it's been a while. I admit that I never really look closely at them, as they always have worked as expected for me. @Hartley : The best to do is to delete everything (theme, associated actions and toolbars) that you have installed with the previous versions, since there have been a lot of changes in order to bring the behavior of Eyssina as the Frema one. Concerning the toolbars, they have their own icons joined in the themes and are exactly the same for both. IMO, the main toolbar (EF_MainToolbar) as well as the Toolbar1 (EF_Toolbar1) are mandatory to use the themes, as they allow the use of the different scripts bundled with the themes which allow the quick choose of the different layouts or the Enlarge selected track feature. You can customized them as wanted also : see the pdf file joined for the 'how to' process, as it's a little complicated, I admit... About the layouts/templates : once you have chosen the tcp and mcp layouts combination for a track, you can save it as a track template. Using it in another project will give you again the exact chosen layouts combination with the new track added. This is also true for a project template.
